IN THE SILENT OF YOUR HEART, HE LISTENS

Do you experience delays? Like delay of God’s answer to our heart’s desires?

And do you also question if He listens?

I experienced those things, sometimes He answered after couple of months or even years. In which I came to a point to question if He really listens.

Sometimes, I experienced dismay, disappointments, frustrations, fears and worries. There are many times that I also questioned Him. I have a lot of negative thought in mind, which lead me into a helpless situation or sometimes experienced “spiritual dryness”. Being in this journey is the hardest part to overcome and to get back again.

I ask His guidance, but most of the time I always ask, ask, and ask. I forget to listen. I always in a hurry and keep on asking on my desires. Then, I have realized that I forget to pause and listen to His word.

Are you doing the same thing like mine?

And this is our problem, we keep on asking, complaining and wishing of our own desires but we never allow Him to guide us to be able to get what we want. We are desperate to seek His ways, well in fact we never do our part to be able to see His ways. In addition, we are not fond of waiting but instead fond of being in a hurry.

God is love, and for that He allows us to journey to see opportunities to learn and be a wiser individual. He wants us to be patient, to trust and to be faithful to His ways.

Last quarter of 2020, I was confused of my personal plans of how to be a good steward of His resources. I keep on asking Him but not seizing on asking for it. Events came, and changes of plans happened. But as I changed on my daily routines, and keep asking for His guidance every day His words become the light. Last Jan 13, the gospel talks about when Jesus went off to a deserted place, where He prayed. He went there to find His food, and be with communion with the heavenly Father in prayer. He sets the standard on what our posture should be while praying, which is to be excited to seek Him as a source of nourishment.

Indeed, that day He also answered what I prayed for from last quarter of the year. It is might be far from the original plan but I trust Him that it is His plan.

So, the answer to the question, if God listens? Is yes! He listens. If we fail to see it, go back to the posture of our heart while praying. Check our heart, and how we pray. Prayer should be a source of our nourishment each day. If we never see the way the Lord sees it, maybe we need to reassess our posture back again and pray even more.

And Delays happen to give us opportunities to learn first.
