CARROT, EGG, AND COFFEE BEAN

Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

Reading this question caused a little bit confusion, from which these example am I fit in or would best describe myself.

Couple of days ago, we had our household and this was our topic. As I was preparing and keep on reading on the story. I tried to analyze and understand the description given. I asked for His guidance regarding this matter, to help me to understand it well. 

While waiting for them, I tried to dissect each subject to identify the description. 

Carrot, Egg, and Coffee bean represent the person, while the boiling water "adversity" is the problem in a different circumstances. Thus, it all says that how I/us face and react on any problem. 

The highlight is this:

1. When a carrot experience adversity through boiling water, it lose their strength. They may be strong in the outward appearance but they are weak inside. 

2. When an egg experience adversity through boiling water, its malleable heart becomes hardened and stiff. Inside of them is a bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart. 

3. When a coffee bean experience adversity through boiling water, there is a change around for the better. The aroma reflects of the aura of an individual, and how  optimist he/ she is. And grace of the Lord is shown upon him/ her.

In connection in one chapter in the book of Joshua, the message of the Lord when adversity comes is this: 

1. Be determined,

2. Be confident, 

3. Be obedient to His command

4. Study His word, and pray

Because He will speak into your hearts that "Dont be afraid or discouraged, for I the Lord your God, AM WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO" -Joshua 1:19.

Our reflection in this was:

Don't be settle on egg, nor carrot. Target to achieve coffee bean.

We may mislead to be an egg or carrot at first, because He wanted us to journey on our own, and eventually lead us to be a coffee bean. He wanted us to be determined, to be confident, to be obedient, and be prayerful to be able to see His grace and His goodness. Carrot and egg, can be His way to help us to learn and to understand His message, because the GOOD LORD IS WITH US WHEREVER WE GO.
