BEYOND BORDERS

BEYOND BORDERS is a test of FAITH, PATIENCE and LOVE. 

 I am part of Operating Room department in a hospital in Pasig City. I have been with them for 8 months now. 

 When I had my first step, days, weeks in OR, I felt anxious and excited. Upon transferring on the area, I had an adjustment on the whole setting of the environment. I don't know how the procedure/ cases run. I don't know some of the instrument and flow of operation. But willingness to learn and to engage was the posture of my heart back then :). 

After 6months, I was sent for a training on how to handle more difficult procedure especially neurosurgery cases.  

Mixed emotions was high on the day of our training. First week was adjustments from there SOP's and practices. On second week, expectations arose. A little bit frustrating because I wasn't able to adjust and met their expectations at the same time. 

During the Holy week, I was able to contemplate and reflect about the posture of my heart. And this was I realized: 

I should not be dismayed but rather be Blessed. I should not be disappointed but rather be hopeful. I should not be selfish but rather be loving. And more importantly, I should not impressed them, but rather impressed my God  and my patient. 

And on our last month, my heart that full of pain changed to heart that full of joy and excitement. There were times of disappointments and dismayed especially when beating the time is on. But in totality, I am blessed and grateful to serve those patients and be collaborated with the OR team. Theyre eagerness to share their experiences was the most adorable moment that I will be treasuring about. 

I could only say that I am more grateful and  blessed BEYOND BORDER!
